About

I started programming when I was in high school. There was something about programming which attracted me from the day I saw my first computer. I am very lucky to be earning a living by doing what I absolutely love to do. I try to keep up with latest technologies and spend my free time reading technical blogs, listening to podcasts and playing with software.
Whenever in mood I try to give presentations on technologies which interest me. This is one place to keep track of all such activities.
Presentations / Events
- Silverlight For Developers (May 2008) at Wollongong DotNet User Group. Thanks to Kirk Barrett for the opportunity to present at his group.
- Silverlight For Developers (May 2008) at Newcastle Coders’ Group. This was my first time at NCG and I enjoyed everything about it. Two hours drive, awesome presentations by other speakers and catching up with wonderful people.
- .NET Framework and WPF (September 2007). I presented .NET and WPF at ACS Branch Forum for September 2007.
- Code for the Country Day (June 2007). A full day intensive training on WPF. This event was supported by New Horizons Australia, they provided the venue at all three locations. This event was simultaneously conducted in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.
- Windows Presentation Foundation Hands-On-Lab @ Dimension Data learning Solutions(2006). A full day hands-on-labs for attendees. This event was conducted by me and Joseph. Among ourselves we tossed topics such as XAML, Styles, Resources, Animation etc. This event was supported by Microsoft and Dimension Data. I am thankful to Charles Sterling and Bernard Oh for providing everything we asked for and many thanks to Frank Arrigo for promoting the event on his blog and MSDN Flash.
- More Advanced Concepts in WPF @ Code Camp OZ (2006) . Code Camp was a fantastic atmosphere. Being with 200 geeks all high on technology and pizza took my adrenaline levels to a new high. I and Joseph prepared for this presentation till last minute. We wanted to deliver an outstanding WPF experience to our audience. I’m confident that we did deliver what we decided.
- Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) @ Sydney .NET User Group(March 2006). After my presentation was well received at SDNUG. I was asked to present at Sydney .NET User Group run by Adam Cogan of SSW. There were some very interesting comments when I did a demo with spinning text boxes
- Developing Applications with Windows Presentation Foundation @ SDNUG(February 2006). Nick gave me an opportunity to present at SDNUG. It was the first meeting of 2006 and there was a big crowd. Close to 80 people I think. This was the first time a presentation was done on WPF in Sydney.
Articles
- Walking Through Avalon and Windows Forms Interoperability in Code. I co-authored this article with Nick Kramer from Microsoft. I wrote this article for Chris Sells who at that time worked as MSDN Content Strategist for Longhorn (now known as Vista). Chris was very supportive while I was trying to figure out this very new technology.
- Hello Longhorn I remember how excited I was after watching a couple of on-demand videos from PDC 2003. I realized that WPF (then known as Avalon) was going to be a lot of fun.
- TicTacToe for Longhorn using XAML and C# XAML which was introduced as a new language to write windows UI brought power of markup to a windows developer. This was my first go at XAML.
