Cleared 70-502 WPF Exam Today
I am now writing at my new site One .Net Way
I passed Exam 70-502 Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 - Windows Presentation Foundation Application Development today with a score of 984. I think I got one question wrong related to data binding. This makes me a MCTS: .NET Framework 3.5 - Windows Presentation Foundation Applications.
The overall exam is not too difficult if you are already working with WPF. As an advise to anyone who wishes to attempt 70-502 I will say that get comfortable with XAML. The exam is loaded with it and most of the questions where you have to read code are in XAML. And read the questions very carefully.
It’s time for me to celebrate now. Its too early for a beer, so I’ll settle for a delicious caffeinated beverage.

Hi Snehal,
The first WPF book I read was Programming Windows Presentation Foundation by Chris Sells. Recently I read another fantastic book WPF Unleashed by Adam Nathan. Other than these my study materials were reading pretty much everything about WPF on MSDN and reading numerous blog posts. What helped me most was that I followed the exam objectives and wrote plenty of code to understand each objective.
I wish you all the best for your exam.

Hi Anchal,
Sure you can. Just make sure that you are comfortable with all topics on the exam preperation guide. While this is not the toughest MS exam, it does require you to put in some good effort. I read WPF unleashed from page to page which helped me a lot (both for the exam and in my work).

Anchal,
Programming WPF is a good book. Another one I will recommend is WPF Unleashed by Adam Nathan. Regarding time; it all depends on your experience with WPF.
A Study Guide has also been released. I haven’t read it so I cannot comment.

Hi deepak,
I have not done any Microsoft certification. I want to go fot 70-502. Can I directly go for this certification or some other certifications are required before WPF certification??

Yes you can go for 70-502 directly. AFAIK there is no prerequisite for any Microsoft exam. All the best. Make sure you visit my new blog http://www.OneDotNetWay.com
